This is my favorite chili.  I serve it with cheese on top.

Lonestar Chili

    2 pounds ground beef
    1 tablespoon diced fresh jalapeno pepper
    2 15-ounce can kidney beans with liquid
    1 big can peeled diced tomatoes
    16 ounces tomato sauce
    2 cup water
    2 tablespoon white vinegar
    2 teaspoon salt
    1 Tablespoon chili powder
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    2 bay leaves

    Cook and drain ground beef.  Add all other ingredients and simmer at least one hour.
